Flying start program

At Flight Experience WA, we run a variety of educational programs that may be of interest to your group or school.

Sessions are tailored to meet your group’s specific needs and include information on aviation today and where it has evolved from, aircraft design, aerodynamics and a session on jobs at the airport. In addition, all participants visit the cockpit and will spend time at the controls of our state of the art replica Boeing 737-800 flight simulator!

Our Flying Start Program is facilitated by fully trained instructors – all of whom are real world pilots. Our sessions are aimed at being fully interactive and allow children to have fun in a learning environment.

This 90 minute session introduces children to aeroplanes and flying and our experienced team of Pilots and Crew take the children through how aircraft are built and how they fly.
Using various interactive resources we profile the roles of pilots, cabin crew, and other essential roles that are undertaken at the airport.

All children have the opportunity to go into our CASA approved cockpit and be at the controls of our simulator and actually fly it! Our helpful and informative instructors assist our “captains of the future” while they are at the controls and provide an engaging insight about some of the instrumentation in the cockpit.

These young captains will also watch some short aviation related films and even do practical exercises such as building paper airplanes. Lots of student participation is encouraged and there are many opportunities for the children to ask our pilots questions. It is an interactive session and one that all children enjoy.
