Dear Mike
I would like to thank you very much for the use of your procedural trainer which I used prior to commencing my 737 type rating with Alteon/ Boeing.
My previous experience, prior to commencing my 737 rating, was turbo props as a Captain of a Jetstream 31 (3500 hours total time).
My time in your simulator allowed me to become familiar with the 737 environment / flight deck layout. Going from a turbo prop to your first jet is a big step for any pilot. The time I spent rehearsing my procedures was invaluable and provided me with the opportunity to learn, in my own time, the flightdeck layout.
There are many systems in the 737 and it takes time to become familiar with these. Knowing where to look and action checklists comes only with time in the seat (in any aeroplane) – this time does not have to be in the motion simulator. Having the advantage of flying the same type, scanning the same panel, using the FMC and then going straight into my training at Alteon really gave me confidence – it truly helped me.
Needless to say I would highly recommend this as the ideal track for any other pilot under taking a 737 type rating.
Thank you once again for the opportunity.
Regards
Ben Hogan.
Ps – just been successfully ‘checked to line’.
“The most impressive aspect of the PS-3 was the FMC and MCP systems which closely resemble that of the -800NG.”
“I believe that the PS-3 would make a cost effective training tool for organisations seeking a realistic training environment.”
“The PS-3 is a fixed base cockpit simulator with a layout closely resembling that of the Boeing 737-800NG. Its internal dimensions and fittings, forward of the flight crew seats appear to be the same as the -800NG, as do the switch and controls layout.”

“The advantages for either an airline or a training organisation are that there is more than enough detail to carry out procedural training.”
“The external visuals are at a higher quality or standard than many full motion simulators”
“...this simulator should be considered
by any organisation that is either training Boeing pilots or is intending on MCPL training.”
“This simulator would allow considerably more time in the cockpit environment for familiarization for new first officers. This extra time, without the associated costs of a full motion simulator will mean higher standards and greater productivity.”
